This dataset includes Dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity, pH, temperature, salinity and other variables collected from discrete sample and profile observations during NOAA Ship Miller Freeman NOAA Dynamic Cruises (NORPAX) in the Pacific Ocean from 1979-04-01 to 1982-06-30. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD, Niskin bottles carbon dioxide gas analyzer, pH meter and others. These data were collected by Chen-Tung A. Chen of Oregon State University; College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences as part of the Carbonate Chemistry of the North Pacific, NDP-029 data set.

These data were acquired by NODC from the Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC) in accordance with an archival submission agreement between CDIAC and NODC.

  • 2015-04-22T00:00:00 - NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
