Temperature, salinity, oxygen, PAR and other variables collected from R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer on the western Antarctic shelf for the GLOBEC project from 2001-04-29 to 2001-06-01 (NCEI Accession 0000792)
This dataset includes Production vs Irradiance data and Simulated in Situ Production data and data reports from R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer Cruise 01-03 (NBP01-03) from 04/29/2001 to 06/01/2001 in the Southern Ocean. These data were collected by Maria Vernet, SIO, University of California, San Diego, under the auspices of GLOBEC (Global Ocean Ecosystem Dynamics).

Supplemental Information | GLOBEC was initiated by the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO in 1991, to understand how global change will affect the abundance, diversity and productivity of marine populations comprising a major component of oceanic ecosystems. The aim of GLOBEC is to advance our understanding of the structure and functioning of the global ocean ecosystem, its major subsystems, and its response to physical forcing so that a capability can be developed to forecast the responses of the marine ecosystem to global change. |
