Coral reef digital still images and benthic species of the Hawaii Coral Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program (CRAMP) on Maui in 2014 (NCEI Accession 0147682)

This dataset consists of digital still images along coral reef transect lines, and photoquads on some transect lines, as well as quantitative benthic data for select images via PhotoGrid, a software package that analyzes random points on digital still images of coral reefs and substrate. The benthic data include substrate type and species identification. A total of 18 transects of the Hawaii Coral Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program (CRAMP) took place July 17 to August 13, 2014 at 9 sites on Maui. Most sites consist of two transects along different isobaths-- shallow (~2-4m) and deep (~7-13m) lines. CRAMP has surveyed state-wide coral reefs quasi-annually since 1999 with all historic sets archived at NOAA/NESDIS/NCEI.
