SEA LEVEL - DAILY AVERAGE and other data from moored buoys from TOGA Area Atlantic and Pacific (30 N to 30 S) from 1907-04-03 to 1995-02-27 (NCEI Accession 9500108)
The Sea Level data in this accession was collected in TOGA Area - Atlantic, TOGA Area - Pacific (30 N to 30 S) as part of Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) project from moored buoys. Data in this accession was collected from moored buoys. The data was collected from April 1907 to February 1995.
The annual submission from the Joint Archive for Sea Level (JASL), which is a collaboration between the National Oceanographic Data Center and the University of Hawaii (TOGA) Sea Level Center, is summarized. This effort includes contributions from over 60 agencies representing over 70 countries. The data have been quality controlled, documented, and placed in standardized formats for the hourly, daily, and monthly values. The TOGA sea level archive concentrates primarily in the tropics.
The data is from 324 stations (hourly) with 2,828,093 records; 330 stations (daily) with 170,739 records; and 330 stations (monthly) with 61,356 records from University of Hawaii, Joint Archive for Sea Level received at NODC via Pat Caldwell.

Supplemental Information | Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description. To develop more accurate metadata, NCEI reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis.
